Adyashanti is one of my main spiritual teachers. He started in Zen and is inspired by many traditions, but he doesn't align himself explicitly with any of them. He uses a [nondual](Nonduality) approach, although he doesn't use that word very often. He doesn't spend as much time discussing the nature of reality as [[Rupert Spira]] (one of my other main teachers) does, and instead focuses more on the experience of nonduality, which I prefer. See: [[Awakening is experientially understanding the true nature of experience]] and [[Current nondual explanations of the nature of reality are bad]]. He recommends practicing [[True meditation]] and [[Self-Inquiry]], both of which have helped me immensely and I recommend as well. Adyashanti also places a stronger emphasis on the role of practice than [[Rupert Spira]], which I also prefer. See: [[Spiritual practices are still useful post-awakening]] and [[Practices can reinforce duality, but they need not]]. Adyashanti is also more open to healing practices and [[Parts]], which again, I prefer. See: [[Healing practices are still useful post-awakening]]. Adyashanti has retired from teaching. However, he has lots of teachings and on [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/@Adyashanti) and his [website](https://adyashanti.opengatesangha.org). However his books are my favorite offerings of his: [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/stores/Adyashanti/author/B001JP9WE0?ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1&qid=1723824347&sr=8-1&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true).
