[[Parts]] can use [spiritual](Spirituality) or [nondual](Nonduality) ideas for their own agendas. [[Burdened protectors want control]], [[Protectors want a role]], and [[Protectors are creative]]. They will come up with clever ways of maintaining their role and control, and using spirituality and nonduality is one means to do that. We may have [parts](Parts) that crave the simple answers and prescriptions that [spiritual](Spirituality) or [nondual](Nonduality) teachings can provide. We may have parts who want to use the prescription to "stop doing" or "stop practicing" so that we'll leave their conditioning unexamined. We may have parts who are afraid of acknowledging our parts and their beliefs, roles, and wounds: [[Self welcomes all]]. And what better way to avoid facing these fears then to grasp onto nondual teachings that tell us that there are no parts to heal? We may have parts that want to know some special and important secret that others don't. We may have parts who are proud of their spiritual efforts, beliefs, outcomes, and identity. We may have parts who deny the existence of relative reality and parts. We may have parts who believe they're beyond the concerns and effects of the relative world.
