But if we want to heal [[Parts]] and dissolve their conditioning, we'll have a much easier time helping them when they're not in the midst of a situation that triggers them. [[Self-energy is healing]], but accessing [[Self]] is challenging when we're heavily blended with parts. And we'll almost certainly be blended with parts when we're in situations that trigger them. Once our parts have healed to some degree, we can see what it's like for them to be in situations that had previously triggered them. (Assuming it's a situation we genuinely want to be in.) [[IFS]] is exposes you to past traumas but with the presence of [[Self]], techniques to get [[Protectors]] to relax, and techniques to help [[Exiles]] not flood our systems with their trauma and burdens when we are exposed to them and their memories.
