My sense is that the biggest factor that separates those who heal and awaken deeply from those who don't is the degree of access to honesty and willingness to see the truth and do something about it.
"Spirituality does not require that you work hard toward achieving a result in the future as much as it requires you to be fully present, sincere, and committed now, with absolute honesty and a willingness to uncover and let go of any illusion that comes between you and the realization of Reality." - [[Adyashanti]]
(I think what Adya says here applies to healing too.)
Without the honesty to see your [[Parts]] and their [[Burdens]], and without the willingness to heal them, you will remain asleep, conditioned, and traumatized. But [[Healing and awakening is hard]]. So parts will try to protect you from this path through delusion, distraction, and various forms of unwillingness.
I don't think honesty and willingness need to be cultivated. I think these are qualities that are natural to your true [[Self]]. So I think it's more a matter of unlocking honesty and willingness from within. [[Nonduality]] can help to awaken you to your true [[Self]]. And [[IFS]] can help you see, understand, and heal the parts that are blocking access to truth and willingness.
