Without the [[IFS]] framing that the mind is made up of [[Parts]], [[There are no bad parts]], and [[Protectors have good reasons for their roles and beliefs, even when they're extreme, irrational, and wrong]], the beliefs and behaviors of people are often irrational, heartless, and destructive. And it often seems like reason cannot persuade the people who hold these these beliefs and behave in these ways. But this is because [[Parts don't need better explanations of spiritual truths. They need their fears to be addressed]].
[[IFS]] also helps us understand irrational, heartless, and destructive external conflicts: [[External conflict is internal conflict]].
And it's no wonder we see so much conflict, polarization, and trauma: [[Trauma, conflict, subjection, despair, and hate are contagious]].
