[[IFS]] offers principles and techniques for accessing [[Self]] by relaxing the [[Parts]] of us that obscure [[Awareness]] with thoughts and feelings. Once parts relax, Self remains.
So IFS is a relatively indirect way of [[Awakening]] (or accessing Self). (However I'd argue it's more direct than other spiritual approaches like mindfulness [[IFS may be a better alternative to mindfulness and related practices]].) [[You can go directly to Self]], without clearing the obstacles that obscure Self. That said, Self is generally much easier to recognize and rest as when parts aren't highly activated.
