[Nondual](Nonduality) teachings often suggest that knowing the truth, our true nature, or [[Self]] is enough. And that thoughts are empty and the mind is an illusion that we don't need to pay attention as we can simply return to our [[Self]]. And that if mental contractions and conditioning remain then the mind simply needs to understand some nondual or [spiritual](Spirituality) truths.
[[The mind is a collection of parts]]. And our [[Parts]] may hold beliefs that contradict the nondual understanding. Nondual explanations may not be convincing for these parts. [[Parts don't need better explanations of spiritual truths. They need their fears to be addressed]].
[[Self-essence can be unsettling for parts]] and [[Parts]] may not trust [[Self]]: [[To become Self-led, parts need to learn to trust Self]].
A nondual teacher might suggest that the concerns of our [[Parts]] don't really matter and we can simply return to [[Self]]. In an ultimate sense this is true: [[You can go directly to Self]]. But [[Burdened parts block access to Self]].
A nondual teacher may also suggest that [[Abiding in Self can effortlessly dissolve conditioning]]. However, while [[Nondual practices can be healing, but it's slow, unfocused, and indirect]]. And ignoring parts is wrong, because [[Parts are people]].
