A philosophy of science that argues that scientific theories must be derived from experience. This is wrong, because nothing is derived from observation. See; [[There is no such thing as explanationless theories]] and [[Theories are conjectured]]. An extension of this philosophy is logical positivism. This philosophy argues that theories that aren't verified by observation are meaningless. But since logical positivism can't be verified by observation, it too must be meaningless according to its own philosophy.
