[[Psychology isn't a science]]. And [[Knowledge isn't justified]]. But most don't realize this. So "science" is often used a source of authority to justify some ideas and wrongly discredit others that don't yet have the supposedly scientific stamp of approval. For example, [[CBT]] is given favor over [[IFS]] in the field of psychology for having more studies, despite CBT having problems that IFS solves. This phenomenon slows progress, as conducting studies and spreading their results can take decades. It may also turn off critical thinkers who recognize the use of [[Justificationism]], scientism, and bad epistemology.
