The most common complaint from new meditators is that they cannot stop thinking. The reason for their inability to stop thinking is simple. They are _trying_ to stop thinking. In other words, they are resisting their thoughts. And when you resist thinking, you perpetuate thinking. Almost every meditator would find immense relief from thinking, and more importantly suffering, if they simply stopped resisting what is: [[Suffering is resistance to what is]]. Even if what is true for your experience now is that you are thinking. There is a vast difference between knowing thoughts as they arise, and becoming so enamored with thoughts that you do not realize that you are thinking at all. The former reveals the peace and freedom we seek: [[You are what you seek]]. The latter is the cause of suffering.
